Good news

Kyle is on his last semester in college and we were so excited about him graduating and finally being done, but when he went to apply for graduation a month or so ago he was told he had missed the deadline and would have to graduate the next semester. So instead of graduating in December  he would graduate in May! We've been so bummed about it but figured what else could we do? Well Kyle went in yesterday to meet with his college adviser and make sure everything was on track with all his classes etc. and they tell him he can just pay a $25 late fee and still graduate in December! I'm kinda irritated they didn't tell him this the last time but so excited that he can still graduate on time!

I haven't posted in a while......and I figured pictures speak louder than words so here's what we've been up to.

I'm sure you've noticed by the fact I have pictures that we got a camera charger. We finally broke down and ordered one after months without being able to find it....and two days after we ordered a new one we found the old one. Now we have two camera chargers...hooray.

*Sorry for the lack of Kyle, between work and school he's really busy.
Kyle was able to come to my parents property for the day yesterday and stupid me didn't take any pictures!

Bleh.

I still can't find the camera charger so no pictures. I want to just buy another one but Kyle is sure it will turn up. I'm sure it will too.....after we've missed capturing a million special moments. The cabinets are in, although it was an extremely stressful and emotional process to get them to come install them and I don't want to talk about it. We still have no counter-tops but I have really high hopes that maybe Monday or Tuesday we will get them. It's nice to have all the construction done with but cleaning up after all these months of work is tough. The house is so DUSTY! I don't know if it will ever be not dusty again after all the sanding we did.

Wyatt has been waking up in the middle of the night several times a night for the past few weeks ( not every night but very often). And for no apparent reason, he doesn't need a diaper, he isn't hungry, he just wants me to hold him and then he goes back to sleep and then we do it again in like 30-40 minutes. I thought he was teething again but I don't see anything coming through and he's been doing this for a while.Last night was particularly hard because I went to bed late and after the second time I had got him back to bed I had to wake up again about 30 minutes later for work. So I am tired and cranky today and I really wish Kyle wasn't at work all day and night so I could have some help and just some company that isn't my angry baby. *sigh*

I suck

We are so busy working on the house getting it ready for new cabinets that I have no time to blog. Which is rediculously sad considering my son hit a huge mile stone and you didnt hear a peep about it from me.

Wyatt is walking! April 5th he just decided was the day and he just started walking and hasn't looked back. I cannot find the stupid charger for our new camera so it's still dead from Disneyland but when I do I will post pictures.

Guest bathroom is all sanded and painted and the linoleum is ripped out- planning on tiling it tonight-
Cabinets can be installed May 10th....but I'm not sure we can make it.

Vacation!

I've been putting off posting about our vacation because I am so lazy, that and we've been exhausted since we got back. But here it is.....

We went with my parents, my sister Melissa, my sister Kim, her husband Troy , and two kids Curtis and Claire. So we flew out on Wednesday morning- We flew standby ( Kim and I work for JetBlue)but the flight was pretty open so we had no trouble getting on the flight. We spent Wednesday afternoon settling in and we went to eat at "Tiffy's" for lunch ( which apparently I'm supposed to remember from my childhood but I don't) and then we were so full no one even thought about dinner later. We drove around and went to the Harley shop for Dad and then we went back to the hotel. Kyle and I tried to go for a swim with Wyatt but the pool was too old and the hot-tub was colder( Ice-tub would be a more accurate name)

The next day we got up bright and early, enjoyed our continental breakfast and then headed for

DISNEYLAND!

Above is me, Liss and Wyatt on the shuttle to the park.
Family photo on Main Street

The next day we went to Huntington beach

Somebody ate sand and didn't like it.....

Feeding Daddy sand to see how he likes it!

Getting home was a bit of an adventure because the flights were very full. We were traveling standby again and there is a system glitch where we couldn't check in online.  It was pretty stressful but we made it home safe and sound.

Wyatt

Wyatt is turning 1 a week from today. He has gotten so big we can hardly believe it. He has started walking if you really put him up to it, but he still prefers to crawl everywhere. He babbles constantly (which sounds hilarious) and he is VERY vocal. He still loves getting into everything he can get his hands on and I pretty much follow him around all day cleaning up one mess while he is making another. He has finally taken an interest in his toys (though he still likes remotes, phones and other electronics best) and he will sit in his room and play with them for quite a while, which means I have finally started being able to get other things done. He almost always sleeps through the night with a few exceptions (mostly lately) and he naps pretty dang good. Wyatt LOVES blankets, especially silky ones. You just have to hand him a blanket and he get's so excited and pops his little thumb right in his mouth.

Here he is after he stole CoCo's blanket out of her basket. She was not very happy but he sure was.

And below he can be seen demonstrating how much he likes to not sit down in his highchair. The kid refuses to sit down and will either stand the whole time or he will sit like this.

He is so gosh dang handsome!

Today we got a quote for new kitchen cabinets and also new bathroom vanities. The company we are going through was actually recommended to us by Kyle's brother Brodie's sister in law. So they are really nice and very happy to work with us so we can do this as cheaply as possible. We only plan on staying in the condo for about 3 years at which point I think we will be about to, if we have not already outgrown it *hint hint*  so we don't want to put a ton of money into it that we probably wouldn't recoup when we sell.

So today we went in and picked out the color of the cabinets and counter-tops, made any changes to the plans and got the final price quote. Honestly it's a bit more than we really wanted to spend but all in all it is a steal. I am one of those people that likes to buy lots of little things and it's hard for me to buy big things that you have to invest a lot in ( even though the little things add up to the amount the big thing costs- crazy I know) So this is a big step for us, I honestly believe that if we don't redo the kitchen we are going to have a heck of a time selling our condo because it is an eyesore. I am going to take before, during and after pictures so you can see the amazing transformation. I'm not kidding our cabinets are pretty much orange currently, with this kinda off white counter-top that is all scratched up and fake tile linoleum( it's hilarious how many people think it is actually tile and have to get down and touch it to be sure it isn't)

Here is the counter-top we picked out. Granite was way too expensive and we wouldn't recoup the cost when we move so we went with a laminate that looks ridiculously like granite.

And  here is Wyatt modeling the color of cabinets we picked
(she let me borrow a door and a swatch of counter-top so I can pick out floor tile)

We really have a HUGE job ahead of us and I am little daunted by the task. We have about 7 weeks until the cabinets will be here. At some point we have to rip out our kitchen cabinets, sand down and repaint the walls, rip out the linoleum, tile the floor, and replace the light fixture, all  before the cabinets can go in (same thing for the bathrooms- sanding, painting, tiling) So Pretty much for who knows how long we are going to be kitchen-less. I honestly don't know what we plan to do. But I am very excited and can't wait for this all to be finished!

Bok bok bok?

Kyle and I read books together at night before we go to bed. I have a hard time listening when other people read because I am anal and Kyle loves to have me read to him so it works out really nicely with me reading and it's something we really enjoy doing together. We have read quite a lot of books so far, mostly Michael Crichton because he is one of Kyles favorite authors. When picking a new book to start Kyle suggested we read "It" by Stephen King, I protested that it was too scary but Kyle is set on reading it.

Well.....we are like 1 and 1/2 chapters in and I was bawling while reading it last night. Then I couldn't fall asleep and had nightmares when I finally did. Wyatt woke up screaming last night which he doesn't do very often and I was so scared to get out of bed and go make him a bottle. I sprinted down the hall after working up the courage and flicked on the light- He didn't want the bottle at all so I was freaked out because I couldnt figure out what was wrong and my imagination ran away for a second with thoughts of something scary in his room upsetting him. I pushed away those thoughts and finally got him back down and put the bottle back in the fridge. Then I was too scared to turn out the kitchen light so I ran to the bedroom and flicked on our bathroom light, ran back to the kitchen flicked off the light and bolted down the hall as fast as I could to the bathroom. I waited a minute or two to work up the courage to turn out the bathroom light and then launched myself into bed.

I know how ridiculous this is. I am a grown woman and I am afraid of the dark. I just have such a  vivid imagination and I let it get the best of me a lot when it comes to being scared. I don't know what to do now, normally after I start something I have to finish it so I know what happens and can get some sort of closure....but with how little we have read in the book is that really necessary? I wonder if Kyle will insist we go on or not? Do I want to?

Sick, Sick, Sick

Kyle got sick, then Wyatt got it and now I have it- It's like a super cold. I feel terrible. Wyatt has been sick for a week and seems to be over the worst of it but still has a runny nose and a nasty cough. I was so sick yesterday I had to call in to work because there was no way I could work six hours feeling the way I was. I stayed up til 2:30 a.m last night though getting in some of my mandatory overtime, it was pretty slow thankfully and I mostly just read a book, it was pretty funny though because my nose is so stuffed people can barely understand me, hopefully this gets better soon because I hate having to repeat myself over and over because a customer can't understand me.

Kyle bought me an early valentines present today......
The picture doesn't do it justice- it's this cute Tiffany blue color. (My old camera is Kyle's from when he was in high school and it's actually just a really old version of my new one which is great because I loved my old one) It's got 10 Mega pixels compared to the old ones 4 Mega pixels, a larger screen and it's adorably blue!
I'm charging the battery now and can't wait to take some pictures of my handsome little man :)

We took Wyatt in to get his hip X-ray's today- Everything looked fine- The doc said we'll watch him for the next 3 months and if the problem still persists then maybe some physical therapy- I think everything is going to be fine and once Wyatt starts actually walking it will go away.

Kyle's last day at Mountain America is today- He really loves the people he works with and they are sure sad to see him go but life we be so much easier now his two weeks are up and he will be back to two jobs instead of 3. He's really liking Pro-Ex and has settled right back into things like he never left.

Life is good-Just hoping me and Wyatt get feeling better soon because I don't have the time or energy to be sick right now.

I am such a slacker....

I said I was going to blog more and then I haven't, I will try harder but sometimes I feel silly because I can probably count the number of people who read my blog on one hand- but I'm not writing this necessarily for other people to read, it's like my online (and public) journal I suppose.

Anywho that said let me catch you up on the goings on in the Pearson house.

Kyle got a new job- It's actually an old job he had prior to K-Jazz (Boo) called Pro-Ex. He has always regretted leaving Pro-Ex and they just called him out of the blue the other day and offered him a job- They even started him at higher pay than when he left. Kyle decided to quit Mountain America and take the job. He offered to start right away which was a bit ambitious considering he was then working 3 jobs and going to school until his notice is up. He's really excited to be back there and we are thankful for the opportunity.

We are done with our taxes! We filed online and did electronic deposit so it should be here in about a week or so. I am very excited because we've been waiting for  another tax refund to come and it has been taking forever, as soon as one of them gets here Kyle will buy me my new stove! I seriously LOATH our current stove. It was here when we moved in,  It's this nasty off-white-ish color, only one burner reliably heats up and stays heated without smoking or being stinky, and the entire stove gets hot when you turn anything on (definitely not safe) I will not be sad to see it go. We also plan on doing some remodeling around the house in the next while- the bathrooms need serious help, we are giving serious consideration to new cabinets ( don't get me started on those) and we also are  planning on sanding down the walls in the entire house ( they are currently textured). We have a busy summer ahead of us.

Wyatt went to the pediatrician today, he's such a healthy baby. Everything looked good, hes like smack dab in the middle percentile for height and weight but his head is really quite large (Porter head) We have been concerned about Wyatts leg/foot- He walks with his right foot turned out and sorta drags it when he walks. Dr. Jackson looked at it and said his foot and leg look fine but it could possibly be a problem with the hip, he hopes it would go away in the next couple months but just to be cautious is having us go get Wyatt's hips X-rayed. I hope everything is okay, he isn't walking unassisted yet so maybe when he is this won't even be a problem, we'll see.

Wyatt is trouble. He get's into all my cupboards and drawers, pulls all the movies and books off the shelves, he chews up everything he can get his little chompers on and he bites. He is very vocal especially if you don't do exactly as he wants and he is the biggest wimp ever. If you laugh too loud he goes into hysterics. He doesn't like raised voices of any kind and also doesn't like it if you laugh at his expense. He is also completely fearless, he likes to stand up in his highchair and also to lean forward and rock back and forth- every time he does this my heart stops because he could fall out and crack his head open but he just laughs. I can't buckle him in because he freaks out. He refuses to hold still at all which means every diaper change is the end of the world to him. He and CoCo have formed some sort of lopsided friendship, she has started to enjoy playing with him, he shares his food with her and they kiss eachother ( gross I know). Between the two of them leaving their toys everywhere and chewing stuff up I cannot keep the house clean.

He is such a doll and I just adore him though, all the naughty things he does just make me smile ( after pulling my hair out) and I just love him more and more every day which seems impossible but it's true. He likes to sing with me and he just babbles all the time, he can say Dad, Dada, Dog, Mom, Mama, Hey, Hi, and Baba. Otherwise it's mostly unintelligible babble.

This last weekend (01/30) JetBlue cut over to a new reservations system ( the system we use to book flights) This is actually a huge deal. I wish people realized how big of a deal this is. They put each employee through a 2 week training ( mine was mid November) and had you do 2 hours of refresher training a week until cut-over....It was not enough to prepare me for it. The system we trained on was full of glitches and errors and a lot of the processes we couldn't actually practice until we went live with the new system. The new system as to be expected has a lot of glitches and errors and we are experiencing really high hold time which equals not so happy people to talk to. We are required to work 7 hours of overtime for the next 2 weeks and then 4 hours each week after that. I am so burnt out.

It is so hard to not know what you are doing and have no one to ask for help because your sitting in your living room and there is an hour hold time to get help from anybody. Last night I got stuck on a call the should have taken a few minutes to get done but after holding for a supervisor who is who had to do it for me, she had to call her supervisor to get help and an hour and 45 minutes later I was finally off the call and it was past midnight. ( at least it was overtime pay) Below is the creepy little stress squeezey thing JetBlue sent me in my care package ( which was for cut-over but it just barely arrived today, better late than never I guess)

Despite how negative I might have made everything sound life is good and we are so happy.
